Police notes: Frederick business owner reports check fraud scam - Longmont Times-Call

A Frederick business owner reported an attempted check fraud scam on Jan. 14. He received a check for double the price of a utility trailer that he was selling. He never transferred the trailer or the funds.

Frederick police responded to the 3200 block of Walnut Grove Street on Jan. 17 for someone driving recklessly and hitting curbs. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle abandoned in the road, but found the driver at home and cited him.

A juvenile suspect was arrested after stealing a credit card and cash out of a wallet in the Carbon Valley Recreation Center on Jan. 17. The card was later used for a total loss of nearly $200.

Frederick police responded to a report on Sunday of someone stealing shingle bundles from a home under construction in the 600 block of Morrison Drive.

Longmont police investigated a report of an auto theft on Monday in the 900 block of Reynolds Farm Lane.

A suspect in a hit and run accident that happened on Jan. 14 on Third Avenue in Longmont has been identified.
